John Brownlie in Calder, Scotland

John Brownlee was born on 22 July 1834 at Calder Scotland, and was married at Wishaw, Lanarkshire, on 2 November 1854 to Janet Brownlie, born 1832.

They had Issue:

1. Jane Brownlie, born 12 October 1855 at Wishaw, died 20 December 1856.

2. Thomas Brownlie, born 6 November 1857 at Waterloo, died Auckland.

3. William Brownlie was born 6 November 1857 (or 1859[1]) at Waterloo, died in New Zealand.

4. John Brownlie was born 6 March 1861, Hasswell, England and married on 8 December 1822 to Martha Nelson, who was born in 1863 at Overtown, Scotland.

5. Jane Brownlie, born 30 June 1864 at Ryhap, England and died in infancy.

6.  James Brownlie, born 30 June 1864 at Ryhap, England and died in infancy.

7. Janet Brownlie, born 26 July 1865 at Northrigg, Scotland and died in Western Australia in 1953.

8. Jane Brownlie, born 15 January 1968 at Dykehead, Scotland.

9. Elizabeth Brownlie, born 4 November 1869 at Blackburn, Scotland.

10. George Brownlie, born 29 April 1872 at Dykehead, Scotland and died 1 March 1958 in Carluke. He married Catherine Boyes, born 1875, daughter of Edward Boyes and Catherine (?)

1.  May Brownlie, born 26 January 1894.

2. Janet Brownlie, born 4 March 1895.  Died in infancy.

3. Jean Brownlie, born 16 May 1896.

4. Liz Brownlie, born 23 November 1898.

5. Nan Brownlie, born 29 November 1900.

6. John Johnstone Brownlie was born on 24 June 1902 and died 8 November 1974. He was married at Forth on 17 February 1928 to Nellie Stark Steele, born 21 May 1904 and died 16 October 1969. John worked as a coalminer until he was around 30 years of age and then took up motor driving.

They had Issue:

1. Davina Brownlie, born 1929.

2. Catherine Brownlie, born 1931.

3. George Brownlie, born 11 August 1933. George was a construction manager, and was married on 14 September 1957 to Una Brownlie Muncie, born 7 March 1937, a primary school teacher at Carluke.

They had Issue:

1. Elizabeth Young Brownlie was born 4 April 1961.

2. John Johnstone Brownlie was born 28 December 1963. John married Alison Jane Curwen on 18 May 1991.

They have issue:

1. Laura Jane Brownlie born 3 May 1997
